In case you’re wondering why I’m blogging at 3.32am,
Its b’cos: I can’t get to sleep.
I’m stuck here.
With my lesson in school on nonverbal communication,
It has made me reflect a lot.
We often judge strangers by:
-Body language
-Posture
-Hand signs
-Facial expressions
I’m perplexed, by
WHEN & HOW do you say the correct things?
Thinking over what you’ve blabbered is really important.
I guess it the main root of all human frictions and emotional strain.
Why couples argue and get sensitive or hurt or feel disrespected.
Many times we just speak with vindication and blabber,
& never realize the TONE of our voice may cause our listener to be annoyed or find us rude.
When you don’t mean what you say.
Sometimes the change is irreversible.
The hurt and damage have been inflicted.
“On the telephone, it is even more vital to watch the tone in our voice. A listener can’t see our face, or watch our body language, so all they have to go on are our words and our tone. ” (taken from a leadership article)
“A friendly tone of voice will make you seem more approachable and kind and might even win you some friends.”
Misinterpretation occurs.
Leads to quarrel – fight- misunderstanding – cold war- drifting apart- hostility- indifference- drifting apart.
